A close up view of the east window showing the oak leaves that frame each figure. Each set of leaves have three small acorns attached. Oak was a traditional symbol of strength and stability. The stripes of colour either side are the colours of Jesus College, Cambridge, which was closely associated with the church. This window was created by William Morris (1834 – 1896), Ford Madox Brown (1821 – 1893) and Edward Burne-Jones (1833 – 1898).
