Dress and coat of Thai silk; reproduction sash. In the spring of 1960, full-cut coats were in fashion and Balmain showed several versions in his regular collection. This open, collarless plaid Thai silk example, however, was made specifically for HM the Queen, who wore it on tour in New York and Rome
