The two screens are Tiger and Dragon, creatures evocative of autumn and spring, in a stormy rendered with broad, vigorous brushstrokes. The tiger moves on a mountainous terrain with rocks and pines. The dragon emerges from the clouds on a sea of boiling waters. The signature and seal, as well as the style and quality of these screens painting are attributed to the school of Ganku Kishi (1756-1838) and at least part of the master himself, famous as a painter of tigers (one of his paintings titled Tiger and Waves is in the British Museum).
