Adam Camerarius was born in Groningen, Netherlands in 1629. He followed his education in Amsterdam and was primarily a portrait painter. He was conspicuous for his style and technique, which showed the influence of Lambert Jacobsz. He was born in Groningen and set up shop in Leeuwarden, where he taught Jacob Backer. Adam Camerarius died in 1666.
