Alberto Ferreras is a New York-based artist born in 1961. He is a writer, filmmaker, and photographer, known for his work in the Spanish-speaking community. Ferreras has written and directed several films, including 'Carmen Miranda: Bananas is My Business' (1995) and 'Comandante' (2003), a documentary about Cuban leader Fidel Castro. He has also written for several television shows, including 'The West Wing' and 'Law & Order'. In recent years, Ferreras has turned to photography, with a focus on capturing the diversity and complexity of the Latinx community in the United States. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the country, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C.
