Anthony Oberman was a Dutch 19th Century painter who was born in Amsterdam in 1781. He was educated at the Stadstekenacademie (drawing academy) and became known for his portraits and genre scenes. One of his notable works is 'The Artist at his Studio' (1820) which is part of the collection at the Rijksmuseum. He died in 1845.
