Arne Quinze is a Belgian conceptual artist, painter, and sculptor, born on December 15, 1971, in Belgium. He is best known for his unconventional and controversial public art installations, as well as his large and small sculptures, drawings, and paintings. Quinze started his career as a graffiti artist in his late teens and did not complete a formal art education. His work often involves wooden planks and aims to provoke reactions and stimulate conversations among passersby. Some of his notable installations include Uchronia: A message from the future (2006), Cityscape (2007), The Sequence (2008), Traveller (2008), Rebirth (2008), The Visitor (2009), and Big Four Bridge (ongoing). Quinze's artwork focuses on social interaction, evolution, communication, rhythm, and the interplay of lines, contrasts, and contradictions.
