Claudius Innocentius Du Paquier was a Dutch entrepreneur who founded a porcelain factory in Vienna, Austria in 1718. He was granted a 25-year monopoly by the emperor Charles VI to produce porcelain in the Austrian territories. Du Paquier's factory was the second in Europe, after the one in Meissen, Germany. He employed former workers from the Meissen factory, including Christoph Conrad Hunger, Just Friedrich Tiemann, and Samuel Stöltzel. Du Paquier's porcelain is known for its delicate and elegant style, inspired by Jean Berain's designs for Louis XIV and traditional Chinese and Japanese decorations. The factory specialized in the production of tableware, such as plates, cups, and saucers. In 1744, Du Paquier sold the factory to the Austrian state, which continued to produce porcelain until 1864.
