Henry William Stiegel, also known as Henry Stiegel, was a German-born American ironmaster, glassmaker, and entrepreneur. He was born in Solingen, Germany in 1729 and immigrated to America in 1750. Stiegel established the Henry William Stiegel Glassworks in Manheim, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1762. The glassworks produced high-quality lead glass in the English style, which was highly sought after by colonial Americans. Stiegel's glass was known for its fine craftsmanship and beautiful etched designs. He was also a prominent member of the American Philosophical Society and a friend of Benjamin Franklin. Stiegel died in 1785.
