Girolamo Mariani, also known as Hieronimo Marini, was an Italian architect and military engineer born in Casara, near Montegibbio, Sassuolo, Modena, Italy around 1500. He was active in the 16th century and was known for his expertise in fortification bastionnée. He was born in Italy and died in Thérouanne, France in 1553 during the destruction of the city by Charles Quint and his troops.
