José García Ayola (1836 - 1900) was a Spanish photographer who developed his work in Granada during the 19th century. His work deals mainly with the city of Granada and its people, where he established a photography studio around 1860. He is known for his diverse themes, including monuments like La Alhambra, street scenes, and popular figures, often incorporating characters into his photographs of the city. García Ayola's studio was considered one of the most important in Granada during that time, alongside Rafael Garzón's. He specialized in marfilotipos and was known for his decorative style, which allowed him to advertise himself as 'Casa árabe'. He received awards at the Exposición de Granada in 1875 and 1880 and was appointed Fotógrafo de Cámara by the Royal House. His work can be found in various institutions, including the Patronato de la Alhambra, the Museo de la Casa de los Tiros, and the Museo Arqueológico y Etnológico de Granada.
