Desiderius Kolman Helmschmied was a German armourer and member of the prominent Helmschmied family of Augsburg. He worked alongside his father, Kolman Helmschmied, from 1534 onwards and took control of the workshop after his death in 1579. Desiderius created intricate and artistically complex armours for high nobility throughout Europe.
