, an American-born Canadian artist, was born on November 12, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking and contemporary dance from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1964. Edell's early life and education laid the groundwork for her future artistic endeavors.

Artistic Career

Edell's practice included animated film, woodcut, monotypes, and drawing, often expressing surrealist themes. Her work was rooted in feminism, drawing inspiration from dreams, religion, and politics. Notable works include:
