Nina Ghafari is an Iranian-Norwegian visual artist and street poet known for her paintings, sculptures, assemblages and texts. She was born in 1989 in Stavanger, Norway. Ghafari’s work is a raw and often painful testament to her unfiltered exploration of memory and self through text and image. A self-taught artist whose short-lived spell at art school showed her that she did not need formal education to create art, Ghafari’s work directly challenges many of the established art world tropes and aims to reinvigorate the way we think about art and the role it plays in society. Her art serves as a voice for marginalized communities, echoing the experiences of social and political inequalities prevalent in the world today. Ghafari’s art has been exhibited in galleries and festivals around the world, including the NuArt Festival in Stavanger, Norway, and the Reed Projects Gallery in Stavanger, Norway. She has also been featured in various publications, including ZH Magazine, Widewalls, and GraffitiStreet.
