Stephen Schaum is a Brooklyn-based artist who focuses on the translation of dynamic patterns of nature into sound, form, and light. He was born in Santa Monica, California, in December 1970 and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Schaum received his MDeS from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University in 2008-2010, where he conducted artistic research in neuroaesthetics. His studio/living space is located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and he has exhibited his work at various institutions, including Sculpturefest and the Bedi-Makky Foundry. Schaum's work has been featured in publications such as Sculpture magazine and the New York Times.
