Vittorio Guarnieri was an Italian artist born in Rome in 1930 and died in 2019. He was a cinematographer known for his work in films such as 'The Garden of the Finzi-Continis' (1970), for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Cinematography. He worked with directors such as Mauro Bolognini, Franco Zeffirelli, Vittorio De Sica, Marco Ferreri, and Lina Wertmüller. He was also known for his work with actresses such as Virna Lisi, Sylva Koscina, and Tina Aumont. In the late 1960s, he became known for his ability to portray actresses, using soft focus, backlight, and scrims. He received two Silver Ribbons for best cinematography for his work with Franco Zeffirelli in 'Brother Sun, Sister Moon' (1972) and 'La traviata' (1982). From the 1980s onward, he focused on television and advertising.
