Életrajz:

Winfred Rembert was an African-American artist born in Cuthbert, Randolph County, Georgia, United States on November 22, 1945. Raised by his great-aunt, he worked in the cotton fields, making as little as 20 cents per day. With rising racial tensions, Rembert participated in civil rights marches and was arrested without being charged in the 1960s. He spent seven years on a chain gang and experienced a near-lynching in 1967. After his release, Rembert moved to New Haven, Connecticut, where he learned to work leather and used hand-tools and shoe dye on leather canvases to create art. He passed away on March 31, 2021.
