Thomas Varty was a British publisher, bookseller, stationer, publisher, bookbinder, and map printer who was active in London between 1831 and 1856. He traded as Roake & Varty from 1831 to 1847. Varty was born in London in 1797 and died there in 1856. He was the son of Thomas Varty and Ann Unknown of Little James Street. Varty was a prolific publisher of books, prints, and maps, and his works are highly sought after by collectors. He is best known for his series of lithographs of animals, which were published in the mid-19th century.
