Vladimir Manzhos, also known as Waone, is a Ukrainian artist born in 1981 near Kyiv. He comes from an art-loving family and was exposed to art from an early age. His father was a collector of local art and rare orthodox icons, and their home was filled with art books and Soviet magazines with hand-painted illustrations. Manzhos began his artistic career in 1999, painting graffiti as a member of the Ingenious Kids crew in Kyiv. He later moved on to visual storytelling, creating large-scale surreal murals with fantastical stories. In 2005, he established the artist duo Interesni Kazki with Aleksei Bordusov (AEC). Manzhos' work is known for its unique style of contemporary muralism, blending elements of antique book illustrations and old engravings with modern street art techniques.
