Entrambi i dipinti sono firmati e datati “Aug. Ugolini Pinx. 1790”, il primo sul quadrante dell'orologio in modo marca e anno di fabbricazione, mentre la seconda firma e data sono sul dado che collega il piano del tavolo con la gamba affusolata in perfetto stile Luigi XVI. I due dipinti sono uno straordinario esempio di ritrattistica e un documento eccezionale del costume del tempo. La descrizione accurata degli oggetti di lusso esprime un gusto raffinato e amante del lusso, sottolineata dalla ricchezza del tessuto del vestito della signora.
