Museo di Lentos Linz, Collezione Wolfgang Gurlitt, acquisita nel 1949 Margarethe Constance Lieser (1899-1943/44) è nata ad una coppia industriale a Vienna e trasferita in Ungheria dopo il suo matrimonio nel 1921. Morì nel 1943 o nel 1944 a Londra. Questo studio per un ritratto che l'artista non ha vissuto per finire raffigura Margarethe Constance Lieser en face. La facciata del ritratto ricorda altri ritratti di Klimt, come Bachofen-Echt, Beer-Monti e Zuckerkandl. Il modo in cui la frontalità, l’espressione e la postura delle mani stavano diventando sempre più ricorrenti caratteristiche dei ritratti femminili di Klimt è qualcosa che vale la pena notare.
