Il nostro Figura femenina (Female Figure) è uno dei disegni tipici che Klimt avrebbe fatto quando stava iniziando a lavorare su un ritratto, un tema che ha occupato gran parte della sua oeuvre. Il nostro disegno presenta una figura seduta, il suo torso eretto e la sua testa leggermente girata a destra, guardando direttamente allo spettatore. Le sue mani sono unite sul suo giro e lei tiene qualcosa nella sua mano destra, forse un ventilatore o una piccola borsa. È interessante osservare che questo disegno preparatorio ci presenta con una visione conclusiva della posa e l'atteggiamento della persona ritratta, oltre ai dettagli dei suoi vestiti, e anche - per giudicare dai disegni grafici che appaiono sul sedile- ci invita a supporre che questa è una superficie riccamente ricamata, e diventa un arazzo colorato.
