Gli occhi lo hanno in questi due dipinti di San Sebastiano (vedi 71.464), martire paleocristiano. Sebastian servì come capitano nell'esercito romano imperiale, ma quando si rifiutò di rinunciare alla sua fede, i suoi soldati gli spararono con le frecce. Nicolas Régnier ritrasse il culmine grisly della storia (a sinistra), mostrando il vincolato Sebastian trafitto da frecce, mentre Anthony van Dyck (71.464) scelse un momento precedente quando gli uomini di Sebastian lo prepararono per l'esecuzione.
