Peary progettato sledge. Un corridore di rovere massiccio o hickory con scarpe di legno shod in acciaio largo due pollici. L'arco arrotondato di hickory collegava le due estremità dell'arco. Peary ha progettato i montanti per essere inclinato indietro sulla slitta, diverso dai disegni nativi, al fine di fornire leva di sollevamento. L'unico metodo nativo utilizzato sulla slitta era il metodo di lashing. Su una superficie di livello questa slitta deve sostenere 1000-1200lbs.
