il crocifisso di cimabue a santa croce ( c . 1265 ) è un crocifisso ligneo , dipinto in cimurro , attribuito al pittore e mosaicista fiorentino cimabue , uno dei due grandi crocifissi attribuiti a lui . l'opera è stata commissionata dai frati francescani di santa croce ed è costruita su una complessa disposizione di cinque assi principali e otto ausiliari . è una delle prime opere italiane a staccarsi dallo stile bizantino tardo medievale ed è rinomata per le sue innovazioni tecniche e l'iconografia umanistica .
