Jan Aleksander Fredro was a Polish dramatist, mémorialiste, and indépendantiste. He was born on September 2, 1829, in Lwów, Poland, and died on May 15, 1891, in Siemianice. He was the son of Jacek Fredro and Marianna Dembińska. Jan Aleksander Fredro was a member of the Polish nobility and held the title of Count. He was known for his writings, which included comedies, satires, and poetry. His work coincided with two great eras in Polish literature: Romanticism and Positivism.
