Amir Baradaran is a New York based Iranian-Canadian new media and performance artist. As the Creative Research Associate at Columbia University’s Computer Science department, he is currently working on his doctoral dissertation on the topic of ‘Artificial Intelligence and Artistic Authorship’. He is also the founder and director of the Digital Storytelling Lab at Columbia University. Baradaran’s work has been exhibited in numerous international venues, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Venice Biennale. He has received numerous awards and grants, including the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Baradaran’s work often explores the intersection of technology and art, and he is known for his innovative use of new media and performance in his practice.
