Bartolomeo di Domenico di Guido was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance period. He was born in Florence, Italy in 1430 and died in 1521. He was influenced by the new Florentine style of painting and was the only Sienese painter of his time to receive a formal education in art. He was known for his detailed and realistic paintings, often of religious subjects. He worked in Florence, Naples, and his native Bologna, and became the dominant figure in the Bolognese School that emerged under the influence of the Carracci.
