The Ben Enwonwu Foundation (BEF) was established in 2003 in honor of celebrated Nigerian artist, scholar, educator, art administrator and statesman, Professor Benedict Chukwukadibia Enwonwu MBE, NNOM (1917-94). The foundation was created to promote the advancement of art in Africa and the world, and to preserve the legacy of Ben Enwonwu. The foundation is responsible for organizing exhibitions, publications, and educational programs that celebrate the life and work of Ben Enwonwu. The foundation also provides scholarships and grants to support the development of young artists in Nigeria and Africa. The foundation is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
