Busui Ajaw is a self-taught painter from Mae Suai, Thailand, born in 1986. She is known for her works that draw from her everyday experiences as a woman in the contemporary world as well as her roots as part of the Akha ethnic minority in Chiang Rai. Her art has been featured in several exhibitions, including the Singapore Biennale in 2019, where she presented 'Ayaw Jaw Bah', a series of paintings and an installation. Busui Ajaw's art reflects the struggles and rich heritage of the Akha nomadic community, and she has been recognized as Thailand's first artist with Akha heritage. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries, including nichido contemporary art and 16albermarle.
