Eduard Antal was a Slovak painter, draftsman, graphic artist, and monumentalist. He studied at the Pedagogical Faculty of SU in Bratislava from 1949 to 1953 under Professor G. Mallý. Antal's work focused on landscape painting, and he often depicted the countryside of his native Slovakia. In the 1960s, he began to experiment with geometric abstraction, creating compositions that featured regular shapes and lines. He also worked in relief, using plaster to create minimalist and contemplative works. Throughout his career, Antal was influenced by the natural world and sought to capture its essence in his art.
