Emil Thomann was a Swiss artist known for his woodcarving and Nativity scenes. He began learning his craft at the School for Woodcarving (Schule für Holzbildhauerei) in Brienz, Switzerland, where he designed his first Nativity. Emil Thomann passed away in 1967.
