Harold Pager was an Austrian-born artist and designer who became interested in San/Bushman rock art in the early 1960s. He was captivated by the beauty of the art and resolved to commit his professional skills to recording these remote images. Pager meticulously painted replicas of the rock art, which are now curated by the Rock Art Research Institute.
