Johannes Vinckboons, also known as Johannes Vingboons, was a Dutch cartographer and watercolourist. He was born in Amsterdam in 1616 or 1617 and died in 1670. Vinckboons came from an artistic family, with his father David Vinckboons being a successful painter. Johannes Vingboons was known for his detailed and accurate maps, as well as his watercolour paintings of landscapes and city views. He is considered to be one of the most important Dutch cartographers of the 17th century.
