Mamdouh Ammar (1930-2017) was an Egyptian artist known for his paintings and sculptures. He was born in Cairo, Egypt, and studied at the Cairo College of Fine Arts. Ammar's work is characterized by its use of vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes, often depicting scenes of everyday life in Egypt. He was a member of the Artists Syndicate and the Egyptian Plastic Arts Society, and his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Egypt and the Middle East. Ammar was also a teacher, and he taught at the Cairo College of Fine Arts and the Helwan University College of Fine Arts. He received numerous awards for his contributions to the arts, including the State Encouragement Prize for Fine Arts in 1960 and the First Class State Award for Fine Arts in 1976. Ammar passed away in Cairo in 2017.
