Marcelo Brodsky is an Argentine photographer, visual artist and human rights activist. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1954 and was forced into exile in Barcelona following General Videla’s coup in Argentina in 1976. He studied economics at the University of Barcelona and photography at the Centre International de la Fotografia in Barcelona. In 1996, he returned to Argentina where he currently lives and works. His work focuses on the impact of political violence and the memory of the past. He is known for his photographic projects such as 'Buena Memoria' (1996), '1960-2000: The Disappeared' (2000), and 'The Family of the Missing' (2006). He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world and has received several awards for his artistic and human rights activism.
