Sun Guocheng was born in Linwu, Hunan Province, China in 1945. He worked as an artist in a porcelain factory and the Shaoshan Mao Zedong Memorial Hall. He is currently the deputy curator and deputy research librarian of the Mass Art Museum of Chenzhou City, Hunan Province.
