Evgeny Ilyich Ukhnalev was born on September 4, 1931, in Leningrad, Russia. He was a contemporary Russian artist and the honorary Russian state artist. Ukhnalev was born during the soviet famine of 1932-1933 and remembered the first day of the War and the paper snowflakes hung on barrack walls. He passed away on September 2, 2015.
