Carlos Reyes is an American artist born in 1977 in Chicago, IL. He lives and works in New York, NY and Caguas, Puerto Rico. His work explores ephemeral phenomena—breath, wind, heat, light, time—as they interact with the physical world. Through installations constructed in a variety of media ranging from glass and cedarwood to bread, velvet and foam, Carlos Reyes’ practice playfully softens the polarities separating fragility and monumentality.
