He founded his fashion house in Tokyo over 50 years ago and was recognized for his innovative and experimental approach to fashion. He was one of the first designers to blend architecture with fashion, creating ready-to-wear and luxury collections that were highly regarded in the industry. Matsuda passed away in 2008 due to liver cancer.
