Joseph-Stanislas Lescorne was a French sculptor. He was born on September 16, 1799, in Langres, France, and died on April 19, 1872, in Paris. Lescorne studied sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and later worked as an assistant to Pierre Cartellier and Louis Petitot. He exhibited his work at the Salon de Paris from 1827 onwards and received several commissions for sculptures, including a statue of Charles X for the city of Cambrai and two frontons for the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Lescorne's style was influenced by classical Greek and Roman art, and he is known for his detailed and realistic representations of human figures.
