Biografi:

Thomas Sunderland was born in 1744 in Whittington Hall, near Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria, England. He was the only surviving son of John Sunderland, an ironmaster. Sunderland inherited the family estate in 1782 and served as Deputy Lieutenant for the county of Cumbria. He was a prolific amateur artist, best known for his landscapes and for copies after other artists, made in clear, flat watercolour washes. Sunderland died in 1823.
