Andrey Nikolov is the major representative of neoclassical and symbolist European influence on Bulgarian sculpture from the early 20th century. While Bulgarian sculpture made its first attempts, his art became a model for European form and vision in sculpture. The statues, created when he studied and lived in Paris and Rome, had accumulated the atmosphere of these centers of European culture.
