Biografia:
Auguste Jouve was born in Marlotte, Seine-et-Marne, France in 1846 and died in 1889. He was a French painter and illustrator, known for his paintings and sculptures of Africa's animals. He was the first recipient of the Prix Abd-el-Tif in 1907, and later of the Prix d'Indochine in 1921. He was the father of Paul Jouve.
