The Lwalwa people, also known as Balualua, Balwalwa, or Lwalwa, are a Bantu-speaking ethnic group primarily located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Kasaï-Occidental province and Angola's Cambulo municipality. They are known for their unique artistic style, particularly in masks, which differ significantly from those of their neighboring Luluwa peoples. The Lwalwa language, Lwalu, is spoken by around 116,000 people, with approximately 91,000 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and 25,000 in Angola.
