Beata Stankiewicz is a Polish artist born in Krakow, Poland in 1973. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow from 1992 to 1998 and graduated with honors in painting and mural painting under the guidance of Professor Józef Lucjan Ząbkowski. In 2005, inspired by Zbigniew Warpechowski, she co-founded the gallery 'mieszkanie23' with Sebastian Stankiewicz in her own apartment. Until 2012, the gallery hosted around 40 exhibitions, performances, events, and lectures. Since 2017, Beata has been a member of the Artistic Association Otwarta Pracownia. She lives and works in Krakow. Her paintings are part of collections in Poland and abroad, including the MOCAK collection. In 2019, MOCAK published an album dedicated to her work, and she was featured in Anna Maria Potocka's book '150 Years of Polish Painting' (Bosz Publishing). Beata Stankiewicz is known for her realistic paintings, often depicting interiors and portraits. She focuses on exploring the boundaries of visibility and experience, leading to a form of metarealism where everyday reality is questioned.
