Biografia:

Carl is an award-winning filmmaker, photographer, musician, and designer with an international profile. He is a producer/writer and director, having produced and directed over 30 documentaries for broadcast television, including a RTS nomination. He has also directed award-winning short films. He directed the Bill Nighy feature film, Sometimes Always Never (2018), that premiered at the BFI London Film Festival and received critical acclaim in the UK, Australia, and the USA. In 2020, he directed the award-winning short film More Than Time (2020). Carl produced and co-wrote the BBC/Warp/Pathe feature film Grow Your Own (2007) starring Olivia Colman. His short, A Day in the Life - Twenty Four Zero Hours (2017), written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, was commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company as one of thirteen reimaginings of a track from the seminal Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The film was approved by The Beatles and housed on their website and Twitter account, the first time The Beatles have sanctioned a 3rd-party project. A Winter's Tale: Shakespeare Lives (2016), a short film also written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, was commissioned by the British Council as part of Shakespeare Lives 2016; an unprecedented global program celebrating William Shakespeare's work and his influence on culture, education, and society on the 400th anniversary of the bard's death.
