Biografia:
Cristóbal Ruiz was an Andalusian painter born in Córdoba, Spain in 1881. He received his early art training in Córdoba with Rafael Romero Barros and in Madrid with Alejandro Ferrant and the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de San Ferdando. From 1902 to 1912, he lived in Paris where he was influenced by the Impressionist movement. In 1912, he returned to Spain and became the head of the en plein air landscape department at the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid. He is known for his sublimely simple images and his use of light and color. He died in Madrid in 1962.
