Biografia:

Jozef Kostka was a Slovak sculptor, born in Stupava, Slovakia in 1912 and died in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1996. He is known for being the founder of Slovak modern sculpture, and his work is strongly influenced by the pieces of Auguste Rodin. He studied at the High School of Applied Arts in Prague and became the first professor of figurative sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. In 1961, he was named a National Artist. His work is represented in the National Gallery in Prague, the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
