Biografia:

Nicolas-Auguste Leisnier was a French engraver born in Paris in 1787. He was a pupil and apprentice of Charles Samuel Girardet and Louis Michel Halbou, and specialized in burin. He opened a shop-studio in the print-shop quarter at 22 rue du Cloître-Saint-Benoît, where he worked as a 'printer in etching'. In 1834, he was made a chevalier de la Légion d'honneur and died in Clamart in 1858.
